Fostering students’ entrepreneurship and open innovation in university-industry collaboration is a TEMPUS programme supported project with general objective to advance employment and self-employment potential of graduates from WBC and enhance innovativeness of companies by fostering students’ entrepreneurship, creation of business start-ups and open innovation approach in collaboration between universities and enterprises.
The project will achieve this by developing a co-creative and supportive environment – iDEA Lab network, which will encourage and foster students’ entrepreneurial intent and at the same time support open innovation approach.
The principal results will include: 6 iDEA labs and their network in WBC with trained staff; developed and realized trainings for students and companies, established regional Market for ideas, developed students’ start-ups and open innovations with companies, revised and adapted curricula. These results will provide infrastructural resources necessary to secure project sustainability beyond its lifetime. Results and best practice will be actively diffused and exploited at national, regional and European level.
One of the iDEAlabs will be located within the University of Donja Gorica, NEXT project partner institution. Cooperation between the NEXT and iDEAlab will further enhance NEXT’s goals, and support the transfer of knowledge and technology.

At the Faculty of Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Marche on 10 December will be held the first conference dedicated to Italian Famo.us: a tool for free and open source web programming born to obtain extraordinary performance on a wide range of devices from smartphones.
Organized by Leaff Engineering, ICT company based in Osimo, in collaboration with the DII (Engineering Department) will, for the occasion, even the intervention from San Francisco’s CEO Famo.us Steve Newcomb.
Objective of the event is to establish the beginning of a course of study and skill enhancement techniques for all programmers who want to leverage technology to create graphical interfaces Famo.us otherwise impossible to create.
Speaker of the event will be Alessandro Annini (Leaff), back from training in California at the headquarters of Famo.us where he had the opportunity to collaborate with the development team and preview the next evolution of the instrument.

Program Introduction and Application Instructions
The U.S. Department of State’s Professional Fellows Program brings emerging leaders from around the world to the United States for intensive fellowships designed to broaden their professional expertise. Participants will complete individually-tailored fellowships in appropriate businesses, government offices, non-profit organizations, or business associations. The program establishes structured interaction among Americans and foreign participants designed to develop enduring professional ties and lasting partnerships.
WorldChicago, an international nonprofit organization based in Chicago Illinois, has been awarded an FY2015 grant from the US Department of State for 2015 to implement a Tech Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Education Fellowship Program for Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, and the United States. The program will bring a total of 10 emerging leaders from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Slovenia to Chicago for a program from May 1 – June 5, 2015 that includes 4-week fellowships with Chicago-based businesses, government offices, non-profit organizations, or business associations. Selected fellows will complete individually-tailored fellowships with leading tech-related companies in a variety of fields, government agencies and NGOs that promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and university and non-university technology incubators. An additional 10 fellows will be selected to participate in the program in fall of 2015 (program dates October 1 – November 5, 2015).
Recruitment and selection of candidates will focus on targeting English fluent emerging leaders (age 25 – 40) from tech-innovation and entrepreneurship communities working in the private, public, and NGO sectors.
CONNECT is an entrepreneurship programme coordinated by EBN and supported by the European Commission, targeted at European new entrepreneurs starting up businesses with the potential to grow internationally. Selected entrepreneurs will embark on a fulfilling exchange scheme in Brazil, where they will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from an experienced host entrepreneur, either in a successful enterprise or in a business incubator, during a period of generally 3 months. This is a win-win collaboration, through which the entrepreneurs will exchange knowledge and ideas and discover new markets and business partners. The stay will be partly financed by the European Commission (up to 2500€!).
Who can participate?
New entrepreneurs: Promising entrepreneurs from all over Europe who are planning to start a business, based on a viable Business Plan, or who have started their own business recently. No specific sector required!
After the first wave competition launched in June this year, 25 entrepreneurs from all over Europe with innovative business ideas and operating in different sectors of activity were selected. First European entrepreneurs are already in Brazil, getting positive results for their business!

The event “From Innovation to Business” held from 15 – 18. 10.2014 aimed to offer to the Enterprise Europe Network members the possibility to meet other firms operating in the same sector with the objective to present and discover new products and services, to explore new business opportunities, to find new potentials clients and suppliers, to find partners for joint venture or innovation projects. The event was recognized long ago as a place that brings together producers and representatives of Croatian and international brands, and it turned out that way even this year. The international character is thanks to intensive cooperation with international ventricular associations and other partner institutions. What makes it different is precisely the business note, international business encounters B2B meetings that where held this year and on which we introduced the visitors with the project NEXT its results and services offered by the NEXT IS that are designed to support the relationships between the actors of innovation, in the Countries of the Adriatic area as well as national and regional level.
The second one also held in Pula (Croatia) on 13th October 2014, at the Materials Research Centre METRIS, where this workshop was held with the presents of nation government, Ministry of Economic and local RTTC –Metris ,to demonstrate them services offered by the NEXT IS that are designed to support the relationships between the actors of innovation, in the Countries of the Adriatic area as well as national and regional level, and linking it with centers of competence that is part of the innovation infrastructure of Croatia and an instrument for strengthening the innovation value chain and encourage innovation business sector and its correlation with scientific and research institutions . Connecting it with NEXT IS, is important for the future operational programs and fundamental to the capitalization of the project NEXT.
This event at 30.09.2014. was attended by local policy makers, Universities , from non-profit organization whose mission is to promote international cooperation – there was Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development and our local RTTC that is a part of IDA in order to demonstrate our effort on a new innovation engine to transform knowledge into GDP as well as services offered by the NEXT IS that are designed to support the relationships between the actors of innovation, in the Countries of the Adriatic area as well as national and regional levels,. Examples of good practice and the need for closer cooperation among research institutes, researchers and business community.
